RT @hiro_asari: If I were a bit (OK, a lot) younger, I would go for a PhD researching JVM and JRuby. Sounds awesome!
"One funded Ph.D. position at CAS Atlantic [1] (a joint project of UNB and IBM) is available January 1, 2013 in the general area of dynamic language support for the Java Virtual Machine. Topics of interest include high performance implementations strategies for JSR 292, and more generally the performance of dynamic languages such as JRuby, Jython/JPython, Clojure, and PHP on the JVM. The ideal applicant would have background in programming languages, virtual machines, and low-level programming in C/C++." ‎- alf
