I'm getting really tired of hearing people talk about things in school being too difficult, and proposing that, as a solution, we should lower the bar for students. For instance, here in WV, they've decided that learning math is too difficult for students, so we should scrap the curriculum altogether and put together one that's much easier. I also just saw someone share a story that basically says "Algebra 2 is driving dropout rates, so let's get rid of Algebra." (http://www.slate.com/articles/life/education/2016/03/algebra_...)
