With all of the technological advancements today, why haven't we employed an effective, non-lethal weapon for cops to use? .
I mean, why is it even possible in this day & age for someone to be killed by police, when there's got to be a better way to subdue someone without it being lethal? There must be a solution, but I'll be damned if I know what it is. ‎- Mr. Noodle
There are tasers, but they have their own problems (including that sometimes cops have used mistaking their gun for their taser as an excuse for shooting people). ‎- John B.
Unfortunately quite a few of the "non lethal" options can be potentially lethal. John's mentioned the issues with tasers, but even rubber bullets have been known to cause accidental deaths (including on live tv in Boston in 2004). It makes me wonder if anything can ever really be considered "non lethal" at all ‎- Soup
