Tennis Official Quits Post Over His ‘Coattails’ Remarks on Women (by Ben Rothenberg)
"Raymond Moore stepped down from his posts as chief executive of the Indian Wells Tennis Garden in California and tournament director of the BNP Paribas Open late Monday, one day after his comments about female tennis players drew strong rebuke from many in tennis, including the tournament’s runner-up Serena Williams. Moore’s decision was announced in a statement from Larry Ellison, the billionaire businessman who owns the tournament. “Earlier today I had the opportunity to speak with Raymond Moore,” Ellison said. “Ray let me know that he has decided to step down from his roles as C.E.O. and tournament director effective immediately. I fully understand his decision.” Moore ignited controversy Sunday morning at a news conference when he asserted that women’s tennis players owed a debt of gratitude to stars of the men’s game." ‎- JustDuckie
In other words "I went and smacked the shit out of Ray and the Williams sisters kicked his ass. Ray then decided that he did not want the video of him getting has ass kicked to be released and he will be stepping down." ‎- Dani (aka ashuping)
I rarely even watch the men play anymore. The matches are just displays of firepower. The women still mix it up a bit. ‎- MoTO Babycakes
