Finally, at the age of 45 and change, I think I'm finally realizing that Life is what you're doing now. Avoiding or putting off things rarely results in success. I was taking a short break and walking around outside and realized that if I am choosing not to do something, what am I expecting to happen instead? Meaning that taking out the trash and cleaning the kitchen are Things You Do. What am I expecting Life to suddenly become if decide not to do The Thing when it needs to be done?
While I have been doing some Future Thinking, it's made me realize that The Now is very important and shouldn't be shortchanged or glossed over. Every bit leads you into the future. (I swear I haven't been drinking! :P) ‎· Hey, it's CAJ!

MoTO, here's hoping I can manage just that.And thanks. ‎· Hey, it's CAJ!
@jsholman, That's very true. I think I finally embraced mine yesterday. :) ‎· Hey, it's CAJ!
LB, I've heard that quote a number of times. I've finally realized less planning and more acting is actually just fine. ‎· Hey, it's CAJ!
Addendum to last night's Deep Thoughts: I realized as part of my new "Now Is The Time" philosophy, I should always ask myself, "How can become the best me at this moment?" ‎· Hey, it's CAJ!
Very cool, @iphwin. ‎· orgmonkey
Thanks, @orgmonkey! ‎· Hey, it's CAJ!
Well, two months later and back in the bad habits. So irrationally furious with myself right now. The kitchen hasn't been fully clean in weeks. I'm behind on shipping product for my wife's biz. I'm behind on simple schoolwork. I need a haircut. The car needs an oil change. The lawn needs tending. There's other landscaping to do. I'm about out of contacts and can't manage to set up any appointment because I can be arsed to do. I skipped working out this morning with the lie of a promise that I'd do it later. (Highly suspect.) ‎· Hey, it's CAJ!
:( Don't beat yourself up. Just gotta get back in the saddle and hit it again. Baby steps. ‎· Have Yourself a Merry Little LB
Well, I did manage to accomplish many of those items so not so bad now. ‎· Hey, it's CAJ!
