Salt, pepper, maybe a dash of garlic. Butter at the end. Perhaps I should invest in some beurre composé.
People have strong feeling about this. If I am served a superior marinated steak, I'll have it as is. But even though I'd have a hard time going vegetarian, I'm not wild about the taste of plain cooked (grilled, whatever) meat. So if it's not already marinated, I'll have A-1 or Worcester sauce with it.
I like it sometimes, but that's my approach to seasoning as well - sometimes I want extra flavor, sometimes salt/pepper is all I need.
I enjoy au poivre (or horseradish cream!), but I'm not picky. I enjoy sauces, generally.
