Is it definitely true that I can't arbitrarily pick which databases on WoK? Like I can within Core collection, but I can't say yes, Zoo Record and Biosis, but not Korean or Russian Citation databases?

we have the whole core collection, then a bunch of emerging and regional, then biological abstracts, zoological record, derwent, data cite (not in core for some reason)... anyhoo, don't need the regionals, want both of the bio ones, don't want patents... can't figure out how to get some and not all.

I"m limiting by country and I can do doc type, but it just seems like a big hassle if I don't even want those databases.

Yep. All or one. Or Core. No soup for you.

do the search, then retrospectively filter out the databases I don't want.... however, now once I've cross-searched, the export doesn't include author affiliation. fml.

It's funny how specific they let you get with the Core Collection, but not with anything else.

database isn't a field in advanced search.

Why do databases show you data and then not have them available in the export? why.

ok. that's sort of funny. i exported the limited fields into endnote, then hit the endnote button to update record, and it pulled the missing fields out of WoS and filled them in.
