Public service announcement: tomorrow, Sep 28, Mokum website will be unavailable for some time between 3:00 AM and 5:00 AM UTC due to maintenance at our hosting provider. Expected downtime is no more than 40 minutes. Thank you for your attention.
(both Mokum servers will be affected, each could be down for up to 20 minutes, thus total downtime 40 minutes) ‎· "Serious" Black
...and we had two more outages, yesterday during the day and this night. https://www.hetzner-status.de/ #mokum-outage ‎· псы в рапиде
Looks like I have one too many o's in the username I just created. Is there a way I can change it? (to "...bloom" rather than "...blooom".

User A bans user B. User C mentions user A in a comment to user's B post. User A receives a notification with a link to the post from user B. Expected behaviour: no notifications received, as user B is banned.

I'm having trouble with the ITTT applet for Twitter to Mokum. Anyone able to help?
IMG_2402.PNGIMG_2403.PNG
@acreech: do you have any privacy enhancers or adblockers? ‎· псы в рапиде
Nope ‎· Anna C.
I had to remove the Twitter service and re-add it, and now any applet using Twitter seems to be working. ‎· Anna C.
@acreech: Good. That would have been my next suggestion. ‎· псы в рапиде
Dear users, brace yourself for a short downtime. I am going to upgrade Nginx on the main server, expected downtime is 1-2 minutes.

When a user deletes their account (or, more precisely, schedules their account for permanent deletion), what happens to the direct messages they sent to me and to my responses to those messages? It looks like they disappear in my inbox (/filter/directs). Is that by design?
Well, for now this is a logical solution, but of course the other behaviour could be better. ‎· псы в рапиде
^ For me, that’s a bit counterintuitive, because I thought direct messages were supposed to work roughly like email or chat logs. I expected to have access to my own responses at least. (That is, my comments below a deleted user’s direct message.) Ideally, I’d like all the correspondence to stay accessible for reference. ‎· It’s me ‎· 1

Search modifier prefixes seem not to be working? Try a from: or an in: search. I guess it might be just me.
well, it mostly works: https://mokum.place/s?q=in:lsw+library. But some small number of posts, unfortunately, seems to be not in the search index. If you have some post in mind that you can not find via search — I can try to find out what's wrong. ‎· псы в рапиде
Not so much that, as the modifiers don't work by themselves. So I can't (for example) do in:lsw from:libskrat to find my own posts to the LSW room. ‎· LibSkrat
@libskrat: ah. yes. I advertise that as a feature but there are some who disagree. the idea is to not make the query language too powerful. ‎· псы в рапиде
ah, I see. Never mind, then. ‎· LibSkrat

I ran into an issue posting a URL to my feed. The issue might be with that particular website, since I hadn't been having trouble posting other links.

Also, the image of the planets isn't related to this particular problem, but seems to be stuck in my cache. It was imported automatically for a previous post, but I deleted it and then it keeps coming back on subsequent posts. ‎· John B.
@dendroica: yep, something's not right with Harper's certificate. Even Chrome if you click on (i) button near the URL says "Your connection to this site is not fully secure". ‎· псы в рапиде

sorry @squadette but got this bug that won't go away, it's from a failed post that didn't upload, now I'm stuck with "You have 1 image file processing. Please wait a few seconds." message, been over 1 hour now, I refreshed many times, signed in/out, cleaned browser cache and still there. Thanks.

I managed to break posting from direct messages page. Please use the new posting form for now: https://mokum.place/?new_form=1 Sorry, it'll be fixed this evening.

feature request: can we upload mp4's like images? with a reasonable size limit of course. would be much more efficient than GIFs in terms of server costs too :3
(I wanted to upload 2 mb cat video, converted to GIF, which turned out to be 40mb. then I thought "nah, not gonna do that to mokum servers nor to people's mobile data cap v__v ) ‎· Kickdrum ‎· 1

Post bug, I've noticed that today when I post something to my feed it's not showing up in "my" feed even though it shows in "home" feed, be it direct posting or using the new mokum share option.
still happening when using share on mokum option so not a glitch. ‎· Halil
@halil: By the way, forgot to mention that. I've applied another back pressure fix to try and make it handle the load better. ‎· псы в рапиде ‎· 1

Anyone else having problems with chrome mokum share extension? It's not working, keep getting endless rotating circle, then I get a broken link in my feed, which has been difficult to remove. Just me or a bug?
Yep, I see a problem. (This is the URL you're trying to share) ‎· псы в рапиде ‎· 1
@squadette: Got it, thanks. ‎· Halil
I've applied band-aid for now, this case (WebP images) needs to be handled properly later. Thanks for reporting. Click "delete" for all images, reload page, and they will go away. ‎· псы в рапиде ‎· 1

Hiya, I've checked the API documentation but couldn't find it: Is there a way to get the list of users I've blocked programmatically?
@kickdrum again what jobs do you turn? hinzir ‎· özdevinim
@ozdevi: ahaha it's potentially for a browser extension that hides mentions that were made to people you've blocked, essentially a widening of scope for the block feature ‎· Kickdrum

Suggestion: Add the ability to hide groups as well as individual posters, and make that available from the Hide menu. E.g. user Goofus constantly crossposts to Irritating Group. When I click Hide on a crosspost, I'd like two options: hide Goofus, and hide Irritating Group. Choosing to hide Irritating Group would hide Goofus's crossposts there, but not posts solely to Goofus's own timeline. Feasible?
Yep, extending hiding and banning to groups is in the tasklist. ‎· псы в рапиде ‎· 2

When uploading an image, why do we need to make an extra click on “Upload 1 img”? Can the image upload start automatically as soon as an image is chosen?

This is completely different two request. 1: i was wondering, is it possible to change usernames like "friend feed". 2: could you append the direct messages count to browsers's tab, in this way we can see, coming private messages that directly to us evenif our attentions are in other tabs/sites. yes, i know, i know, there is a feature for that things ( browser notifications ) but someones doesn't use it or can't see the notifications during surfing other tabs. so :) could you add __/ mokum(3) \__ ???
A) please send me a direct message via https://mokum.place/filter/directs?to=squadette with your new username. This could be done only once. ‎· псы в рапиде
B) yes, this is in the backlog ‎· псы в рапиде
C) I did not understand the part about "mokuk(3)", frankly. ‎· псы в рапиде

mokum is doing an annoying thing again that has already happened for a short period of time in the past: when you comment a post somewhere in the middle of your home, the page refreshes to put the updated post on top, interrupting the natural scrolling towards the bottom.
Hey, we are going to upgrade Mokum database, please be prepared to 10-20 minutes of downtime.
