My apartment complex is making me rehome Igor due to new asshole neighbors who call to complain if we sneeze too loudly. Those of you who know me know how much I love this dog; he's my baby and much of my daily routine revolves around him, and has for the past 6 years. I'm absolutely devastated. I cannot stop crying. I haven't shared to FB yet because I can't stand to hear what people are going to say. I've been through all the options, trust me. A lovely rescue has agreed to take him and make sure he gets a very good home. I should be happy for him, he will be okay. I don't know that I will be.
So it looks like I'm on my way to tenure and promotion (I'm just waiting on the President's letter, all of the other letters have been positive recommendations up the chain). There is a standard raise that comes with promotion and tenure, and I've heard it's not rare to send a letter to the Provost bargaining for a higher percentage (apparently some faculty have done this and won a bigger raise, other faculty didn't even know it was a thing you could do). Has anyone here done this? Would you be willing to read my letter once I finish it and make recommendations? All recommendations/comments helpful.
I don't have the needed skillset, but I want to congratulate you on the pending promotion and tenure!· Spidra Webster
Thank you :) I'm trying not to dance or squee about it until I get the final letter, haha· WarMaiden
I'll eyeball. Depending on percentage, you may be able to use my uni contract as a negotiating point.· hedgielib
Thank you - as soon as I get a working draft, I'll send it along!· WarMaiden
